The Hearth Gallery is delighted to present an exhibition of Original Prints by Members of Cardiff Print Workshop, opening tomorrow at Oriel yr Aelwyd, The Hearth Gallery.
Inspiring Lines is the result of an exciting collaboration between Cardiff Print Workshop and two talented local poets, Will Dean Ford and Hilary Griffiths.
Last year, members of Cardiff Print Workshop had the opportunity to listen to poetry readings and performances by Will and Hilary at their Market House Studio in Market Road, and since then members have been creating work for this exhibition inspired by the poems they have chosen.
The result is a beautiful and intriguing body of work which explores the relationship between print, word and image, and which brings to light a rich dialogue between printmaking and the spoken word.
The opening of this exhibition was the first chance the poets had to see the work created by the printers in response to their own and they were clearly moved by the individual interpretations and visualizations of what they had written.
This exhibition will be displayed in the Hearth Gallery until the 28th September 2018.
