|| A Space to Roam || . . In the Plaza Exhibition space we have A Space to Roam, a solo show by Welsh Artist and Medical Humanities PhD student Cerys Knighton. @cerysknighton Primarily using a pointillism technique with pen and ink, the pieces in the exhibition have been rendered by delicately layering thousands of individual ink dots to build textures and images. The art explores the findings of Cerys’s PhD research into representations of manic-depressive illness, as well as drawing from her lived experience of bipolar disorder. Our ‘Is it Science or Art?’ exhibition is creating some great discussions at the Hearth Gallery! This exhibition is a collaborative partnership project between Tamsin Griffiths and Paul Whittaker. Tamsin and Paul are cross disciplinary artists who create participatory interactive projects that blur the boundaries of art forms and challenge perceptions about mental health through form and content. The exhibition seeks to highlight the importance of knowing the person behind the diagnosis and the positive impact that art and the act of art making can have on our wellbeing! All are welcome to the exhibition closing event 19th Feb 4-6pm and the exhibition discussion event 20th Feb 2-3pm, both in the Hearth Gallery, University Hospital Llandough. Amy Salisbury has brightened up our Plaza space at University Hospital Llandough with her solo show Blue Planet.
