We are thrilled to announce the arrival of the new Corridor exhibition by Brian Marsh, exploring captivating landscapes and nature. As a valued colleague at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, Brian extends his creative talents to skilfully capture the atmospheres and feelings of locations through his painting practice. We are delighted to support to Brian during his inaugural exhibition.

I’m a Welsh artist living in Cardiff, I have always painted but during Covid-19 my productivity grew as I was even more drawn to the outdoors and the beauty of life.

The work on display is directly Inspired by the places I’ve seen. I try to capture the interplay of light and atmosphere, my ultimate aim is to capture the true essence of a place rather than simply reproducing the details.

I predominantly work with oils, using both palette knives and brushes to apply the paint. This allows me to experiment with various textures and layering techniques which leads to a degree of unpredictability.

I strive to create artworks that not only capture the emotion and energy of a place but to invite the viewer into the scene.

-Brian Marsh

The exhibition will run until 6th November 2023.

Rydym yn falch iawn o groesawu’r Arddangosfa Goridor newydd gan Brian Marsh, sy’n archwilio natur a thirweddau cyfareddol. Mae Brian, sy’n gydweithiwr gwerthfawr ym Mwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Caerdydd a’r Fro, yn ehangu ei ddoniau creadigol i grisialu awyrgylch a theimladau lleoliadau yn fedrus trwy ei waith paentio. Rydym yn falch iawn o gefnogi Brian yn ystod ei arddangosfa agoriadol.

Rwy’n artist o Gymru sy’n byw yng Nghaerdydd. Rwyf wedi bod yn paentio erioed ond yn ystod COVID-19, roeddwn i’n fwy cynhyrchiol wrth i mi gael fy nenu hyd yn oed yn fwy at yr awyr agored a harddwch bywyd.Mae’r gwaith sy’n cael ei arddangos wedi’i ysbrydoli’n uniongyrchol gan y lleoedd rydw i wedi’u gweld. Rwy’n ceisio dal cydadwaith y golau a’r awyrgylch; fy nod yn y pen draw yw cyfleu gwir hanfod lle yn hytrach nag atgynhyrchu’r manylion yn unig.

Rwy’n gweithio gydag olew yn bennaf, gan ddefnyddio cyllyll palet a brwshys i ychwanegu’r paent. Mae hyn yn fy ngalluogi i arbrofi gyda gwahanol weadau a thechnegau haenu sy’n arwain at elfen anrhagweladwy.

Rwy’n ymdrechu i greu darnau o waith celf sydd nid yn unig yn dal emosiwn ac egni lle ond sy’n gwahodd y sawl sy’n edrych arno i mewn i’r olygfa.
