A recent study has shown that an NHS worker walks on average 10,000 steps a day – that’s a rough equivalent of five miles. And, it’s been evidenced that setting yourself a daily target can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and give you a healthier heart. Don’t believe us? Check out the study here.

Do you think you could step up to the challenge and walk 10,000 steps a day?

All you have to do is follow the simple steps below:

Decide whether you’d like to join in for 7, 14, 21 days or the entirety of January

Get your office colleagues on board and create a support group

Share your progress on social media using the hashtag #nhsstepchallenge and ask your friends and family to support you with a donation via JustGiving (scan QR code for more information)

Stay dry this January!

Christmas is often celebrated with a lot of over-indulgence which makes January the perfect month to give your body a break. Leave the alcohol behind in 2022, and take on our dry January challenge!

Download the NHS Drink Free Days App to your phone and monitor your progress. Whether it’s for 7, 14, 21 days or the month, the app can give simple and practical tips to help you through the challenge. The app is free to download wherever you get your applications from.
