We are delighted to present the My Gratitude for Nature exhibition by Elaine Jones, an artist based in the Brecon Beacons. Her artwork depicts flora and fauna, and beautiful local landscapes.

Based in the hills just outside Llandovery I can be found in my old railway carriage studio overlooking the Brecon Beacons. Constantly inspired by my beautiful surroundings taking much inspiration from my local area. I am a self-taught artist using mainly acrylics and watercolours plus an array of other mediums and crafts. I enjoy experimenting with different textures and styles.

My work has been described as uplifting, harmonious and emotive. Works include landscapes, seascapes & florals plus more recently abstract work. I am a member of the Tywi Valley Open Studios where I open my studio doors every year to the public, during which I hope to inspire others to get creative.

My artistic journey has been of such therapeutic benefit to me during my health issues. It has made such a positive impact on my self-esteem and confidence so to be asked to be involved with the ‘Arts for Health & Wellbeing’ programme seems the perfect fit. I love the idea of my art having a positive effect in a setting such as this and to hopefully inspire others to use creativity as a form of therapy for their own health & wellbeing.

My Gratitude for Nature – Arddangosfa gan Elaine Jones

Mae’n bleser gennym gyflwyno’r arddangosfa  My Gratitude for Nature gan Elaine Jones, artist o Fannau Brycheiniog. Mae ei gwaith celf yn darlunio fflora a ffawna, a thirweddau lleol hardd.

Rwyf wedi fy lleoli yn y bryniau ychydig y tu allan i Lanymddyfri, ac fe ddewch o hyd i mi yn fy stiwdio, sef hen gerbyd rheilffordd yn edrych dros Fannau Brycheiniog. Caf fy ysbrydoli’n gyson gan fy amgylchedd hardd ac rwy’n cael llawer o ysbrydoliaeth o’m hardal leol. Rwy’n artist hunan-ddysgedig sy’n defnyddio acrylig a dyfrlliw yn bennaf ynghyd â llu o gyfryngau a chrefftau eraill. Dwi’n mwynhau arbrofi gyda gweadau ac arddulliau gwahanol.

Mae fy ngwaith wedi cael ei ddisgrifio fel gwaith sy’n codi calon, yn gydnaws ac yn emosiynol. Mae’r gwaith yn cynnwys tirluniau, morluniau a blodau ynghyd â gwaith haniaethol yn fwy diweddar. Rydw i’n aelod o Stiwdios Agored Dyffryn Tywi lle dwi’n agor drysau fy stiwdio bob blwyddyn i’r cyhoedd, gan obeithio ysbrydoli eraill i fod yn greadigol.

Mae fy nhaith artistig wedi bod o fudd therapiwtig mawr i mi yn ystod fy mhroblemau iechyd. Mae wedi cael effaith mor gadarnhaol ar fy hunan-barch a’m hyder felly roeddwn yn awyddus iawn i ymwneud â Rhaglen y Celfyddydau ar gyfer Iechyd a Lles. Dwi’n dwli ar y syniad bod fy ngwaith celf yn cael effaith gadarnhaol mewn lleoliad fel hwn a’i fod, gobeithio, yn ysbrydoli eraill i ddefnyddio creadigrwydd fel math o therapi ar gyfer eu hiechyd a’u lles eu hunain.
