We are delighted to commission artist Marion Cheung to deliver both online and in-person art tutoring sessions to the Mental Health Matters Wales team at St. David’s Hospital as part of our Queen’s Green Canopy Project.

Mental Health Matters Wales staff support patients across multiple Cardiff and Vale UHB sites providing engagement through stimulating activities and interactions. After Marion’s tutorials, the staff introduced patients to work with Marion to create wonderful artworks around the theme of nature and wellbeing, also creating poems and writing in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

We are looking forward to seeing more beautiful work from the project and hearing more positive feedback from patients:
“You’ve got parts of my rusty old brain working again!”
“You’re very creative and full of ideas – I’ve enjoyed this so much that I’d like to carry on at home. Where did you get the paint from?”
“I had no idea that I could do this!”

Mae’n bleser gennym gomisiynu’r artist Marion Cheung i ddarparu sesiynau tiwtora celf ar-lein ac wyneb yn wyneb i dîm Mental Health Matters Wales yn Ysbyty Dewi Sant fel rhan o Brosiect Canopi Gwyrdd y Frenhines.

Mae staff Mental Health Matters Wales yn cefnogi cleifion ar draws nifer o safleoedd BIP Caerdydd a’r Fro gan ddarparu ymgysylltiad drwy weithgareddau a rhyngweithio ysgogol. Ar ôl tiwtorialau Marion, gwnaeth y staff gyflwyno’r cleifion i weithio gyda Marion i greu darnau o waith celf gwych ar y thema natur a lles, gan greu cerddi a darnau ysgrifennu hefyd i ddathlu Jiwbilî Platinwm y Frenhines.

Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at weld mwy o waith hyfryd o’r prosiect a chlywed mwy o adborth cadarnhaol gan gleifion:
“Mae rhannau o fy hen ymennydd rhydlyd yn gweithio eto diolch i chi!”
“Rydych chi’n greadigol iawn ac yn llawn syniadau – rwyf wedi mwynhau hyn gymaint fel yr hoffwn barhau gartref. O ble y cawsoch chi’r paent?”
“Doedd gen i ddim syniad y gallwn i wneud hyn!”
