January is National Mentoring Month, an annual mentoring campaign nationwide dedicated to celebrating mentoring. Arts and Business Cymru Intern, Bex Betton, joined the Arts for Health and Wellbeing team at Cardiff and Vale Health Charity as part of a programme to develop her skills as an arts fundraiser in Wales.

So far, Bex has received mentorship from Simone Joslyn, Head of Arts and Health Charity, Jayne Catherall, Senior Communications and Engagement Officer for Arts and Health Charity, which is helping to improving her skills across multiple disciplines. Through the internship, Bex has also been assigned; an Arts Mentor, Marie Wood – Head of Revenue Fundraising at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, a Business Mentor, Lynne Sheehy – CSR Manager at Legal and General and an Intern Buddy, Rebecca Hobbs – Development Officer at the National Dance Company Wales, as well as receiving ongoing support from Arts and Business Cymru.

Bex says,

“I am in a fantastic position to be in regular contact with so many experienced mentors. Its wonderful to be able to hear multiple perspectives and experiences across the range of topics I discuss with my mentors. I believe these relationships are supporting me to become a well-rounded member of the Arts for Health and Wellbeing team.”
