Your donations have allowed us to bring the joy of music to seniors within our hospitals during this isolating time.  Here’s some of the fantastic projects we’ve been able to fund with your help:

The Welsh National Opera have adapted their weekly visits to online sessions where the patients and staff are able to interact with a small team of musicians. Bringing back fond audience memories, the patients have been given tickets and props to engage with the performances. The most recent performance by Sian Cameron and Sian Davies was greatly enjoyed.

Staff Holding an Ipad for a Patient

Last week, with iPads set up across the wards, Harmoni Cymru reached 20 patients at St. David’s Hospital with their first music therapy session which allowed patients to sing and dance to familiar tunes with the help of the Mental Health Matters Team.

The Forget-Me-Not Chorus flowed music through the wards of St. David’s Hospital with their series of outdoor car park and courtyard concerts. Staff at St. David’s opened the windows and accompanied patients to view the outdoor performances safely, obeying all social distancing guidelines. Forget-Me-Not Chorus have also performed for seniors on our mental health wards at University Hospital Llandough.

It has been a pleasure to work with each of these organisations to improve the wellbeing of patients. Your donations will help us to continue to run these opportunities and allow older patients to relive and make new musical memories.
