Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is delighted to receive a portrait of Gareth Thomas to celebrate Pride 2020.
The portrait was created by a service user who kindly donated the artwork to the Health Board for the excellent service he’d received at Cardiff Royal Infirmary’s Department of Sexual Health and the Terence Higgins Trust.

The service user had recently taken up painting, which he uses as an outlet to explore his creativity and learn a new skill during a particularly challenging period in his life.
Simone Joslyn, Head of Arts and Health Charity at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: “I’d like to say thank you to the service user for donating this artwork. It’s such a beautiful portrait of Gareth Thomas, who I’m sure has inspired many with the journey he has recently travelled with his health. We’re really proud to display this artwork within the Department of Sexual Health, which will give hope and inspire others with strength and creativity.”
